Modern Standard Arabic is the formal language of Arabic. It is understood by all Arabic speakers and is widely used in the media (news and other TV programmes, radio broadcasts, newspapers, magazines etc.) It is also regarded as the formal written language. As it is formal and pan –Arab those working on the fields of media, business, advertisement or those with corporate background find it useful to learn MSA combined with the local spoken dialect.
